ORPHAN SUNDAY

Food for Orphans and the Christian Alliance for Orphans, along with many other fine organizations, are recognizing the first Sunday in November as National Orphan Sunday. But sometimes it’s difficult to find relevant ways to engage church members in these types of events, and churches want to see their members jump into action and respond with genuine heartfelt emotion.

So, I would like to introduce you to The ONE Meal Miracle. It’s a way that families can copy the little boy that donated his meal to Jesus, and then Jesus created a ONE Meal Miracle, and changed that ONE meal into many meals. Families simply donate ONE meal per month ($15) to feed ONE orphan every day. This personal connection to orphans assures the genuine heartfelt emotional response the church is seeking.

Food for Orphans can provide your church with a short video, bulletin inserts, pledge cards, and sermon notes to make your Orphan Sunday a success.

FOOD PACKING EVENTS

Food for Orphans food packing events are unforgettable. Volunteers package and ship meals of rice, protein, vegetables, flavorings, vitamins and minerals to hungry orphans around the world.

Food Packing Events are fun-filled activities where anyone of any age can participate, making them fantastic team-building or family day events. The food you pack will be shipped to a verified international orphan project, enabling you to follow its usage & impact.

For two hours, participants measure and combine the special ingredients into plastic bags, weigh and seal the bags, and place them in provided cardboard boxes for shipping. Each completed package contains six highly nutritious, fortified and delicious easy-to-cook meals that have been specifically designed by scientists to save the lives of starving children.

The food packaged at these events is delicious and helps restore the orphans’ health, strengthens their immune system, reverses the starvation process, and improves their mental and physical alertness. Each package provides six nutritionally complete meals all for only 23¢ per serving.

Volunteers give of their time, knowing that their participation was more than just another activity … their involvement is literally saving the lives of thousands of innocent orphans. The orphan’s health is vastly improved, and the volunteer’s life is forever transformed.

MISSION TRIPS

Mission trips are life-changing. Food for Orphans can take you to visit orphan projects to serve, build or repair, teach, inspect, tutor, play, feed, and pray. We make all the arrangements (unless you would rather book your own air travel) and provide rooms, food, water, in-country transportation, translators, and hosts.

Mission trips are available to Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Peru, Central African Republic, or Zimbabwe.
